There’s still room left to attend the Civility in the Workplace: Conflict Resolution and Managerial Mediation workshop slated for 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday at Hawaii Innovation Center in Hilo.
The workshop is sponsored by Ku’ikahi Mediation Center, and training will cover the financial costs of conflict, frustrating workplace behaviors, their consequences and how to use collaborative skills to lay the foundation for a civil organization.
The workshop, which includes hands-on practice, has been offered on Hawaii Island and Maui for state agencies, health care entities, private businesses and nonprofit organizations. Participants will learn techniques and tools for immediate use in daily interactions.
Instructor Diane Petropulos has offered mediation, facilitation and training services throughout Hawaii since 2001. She is a former lecturer at the master’s level in the Human Resource Management Program at University of Hawaii at Manoa and has mediated hundreds of circuit, district and small claims court cases for Maui Mediation Services, where she currently serves on its board of directors.
The cost to attend the workshop is $75, which includes lunch. Group discounts and individual needs-based partial scholarships are available.
