Charmaine Rose Lorenzo, 60, of Pittsburg, Calif., died March 26 in Antioch, Calif. Born in Pahala, she owned and operated Hale Kupa‘a School, taught at Hale O Kamali‘i Montessori School, Hale Aloha Nazarene School, Waters of Life (Na Wai Ola) Public Charter School, Boys and Girls Club of Hilo, Goodwill Industries – Ole I Ka Hana, Hilo Community School for Adults, Hawaii National Guard Youth Challenge Academy and Paxen After-School All-Stars, attended Malia Puka O Kalani and St. Joseph Catholic churches, was a Hilo High School Class of 1975 alumna and graduated from Chaminade University in early childhood education and Montessori. Ho‘okupumekealoha (Harry Obregon) Lorenzo; parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Lorenzo; sisters, Kathleen (Glenn) Babayan and Kimberlee Lorenzo of Keaau; brothers, Arthur Joey (Trish) Lorenzo of Lihue, Kauai, and Clifford Lorenzo of Waimea; a hanai grandson.
