James Dominick Evans, 95, of Honolulu, formerly of Hilo, died Jan. 28 in Honolulu. Born in Worcester, Mass., he was an executive vice president of Bank of Hawaii who spent 20 of 40 years with the bank in Hilo, later became president of First National Bank of Arizona and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran who served in Shanghai using his Mandarin language skills. Memorial Mass on Hawaii Island at 10 a.m. Friday, April 13, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 27-186 Kaapoko Homestead Road in Papaikou. Memorial Mass in Honolulu at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at Newman Center-Holy Spirit Parish 2707 Pamoa Road in Manoa. His body was donated to the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. Ashes to be interred at a later date. Memorial gifts to John A.
