The United Nations Association-USA Hawaii Island Chapter, in collaboration with University of Hawaii at Hilo International Student Services, presents at a talk by Shawon Rahman, an associate professor of computer science and engineering at UH-Hilo, at 5 p.m. Jan. 18 on campus.

Rahman’s presentation is related to U.N. Global Goal No. 9, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and will take place in the Student Services Center, Room W-201, at UH-Hilo.

Rahman will discuss how to detect, avoid and get rid of malware (including viruses, spyware and other unwanted software) on your computer and mobile devices.

“The internet provides us access to various products, services, entertainment and information, however, at the same time it opens doors for scammers, hackers and identity thieves,” Rahman warns.

The presentation is free and open to the public.
