Mildred “Dindy” Jane Branco, 84, of Hilo died Dec. 25 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation 9-10:30 a.m. Monday (Jan. 4, 2016) at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Urn committal service to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by husband, Manuel “Manny” Branco Jr. of Hilo, sons, Dennis (Virginia) Branco, Allen (Mary) Branco and Paul (Kathleen) Branco of Hilo; daughters, Gale Paulos of Hilo, Cora Cardoso of Honokaa, Lori (Michael) Kahihikolo of Waimea and Suzy (Adam) Barela of Volcano; sisters, Norma Fergerstrom of Hilo and Betty (Buddy) Kamehaiku of Panaewa; sister-in-law, Pearl Peralto of Hilo; brother-in-law, Silverio Patenio of Honolulu; 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Donald “Buddy” Howard Brandt, 88, of Hilo died Dec. 18 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired finance comptroller for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., had worked for HELCO and the former Wailuku, Olokele and Hilo sugar companies, was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Young Men’s Institute Francis Council No. 573, and Hawaii Army National Guard veteran. Visitation 8:30-10 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 6, 2016). Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Homelani Memorial Park Mausoleum. Casual attire. No flowers or koden (monetary gifts). Memorial donations to Hospice of Hilo, Alzheimer’s Association or American Cancer Society. Survived by wife, Barbara S. Brandt of Hilo; son, Dean H. Brandt of Volcano; daughters, Lori A. Rose Nathewitch, 94, of Kapoho died Dec. 26 at home. Born in Baltimore, she was a homemaker. Services in Baltimore.
