Yukio Uemura, 89, of Hilo died Dec. 12 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born in Hilo, he was an ironworker for Hawaiian Reinforcing Steel Co. on Oahu, U.S. Army World War II veteran and member of Ahualani Kumiai. Services held.
