Shriners Hospitals for Children-Honolulu welcomes John White as its new administrator, the non-profit hospitals highest executive position. He officially started on January 6th. John has served in a variety of executive leadership roles in the health care industry for nearly two decades.
“John brings to us a wealth of knowledge in medical administration as well as having roots in Hawaii,” said Zeke Schmus, chairman of the Honolulu board of governors. “In a previous assignment, John was chief executive officer of North Hawaii Community Hospital and has two sons attending school at Hawaii Preparatory Academy in Waimea. The board of governors extends a warm welcome and aloha to John.”

White most recently served as chief executive officer and superintendent at Klickitat County Public Hospital District No. 1 in Washington state, where he engineered ongoing financial turnaround and recruited 11 new medical providers. During his tenure at North Hawaii Community Hospital, he increased net income and fund development proceeds, and established the first general orthopaedic and hand surgery practice.
